Directed by Terry Gilliam ,Tideland is adapting a work of acclaimed author Mitch Cullin on the survival of a child in bizarre circumstances. Jeliza-Rose (Jodelle Ferland) is a child in a delicate situation: parents are drug addicts. When her mother (Jennifer Tilly) dies, Jeliza embarks on a strange journey with her father (Jeff Bridges), a musician who stopped in time. To deal with the loneliness that is the new home, Jeliza retreats into an imaginary world - a world where fireflies have names, and squirrels talk. The heads of their dolls, long separated from their bodies, come alive and make it company. Optimistic and surreal, funny and scary, Tideland - UNLIKE THE WORLD celebrates the power of imagination of a child.
